What's New with LFTX

Learning Forward Texas Annual Conference Updates 

Learning Forward Texas will Focus on the Future through Leading and Learning at the 31st Annual Conference. The only conference in Texas focused on Professional Learning will be held on June 19 - 21, 2023, at the Irving Convention Center, Irving, Texas.

Pre-registration is closed - Onsite Registration available

Online pre-registration is closed, but have no fear. You can still attend the conference by registering onsite.  Onsite registration will be available June 20 at 7:30 am on the 4th floor of the Irving Convention Center. Bring a check or credit card, and we can send you on your way to an unforgettable learning experience. 

Don't miss out on the exciting keynote speakers, engaging sessions, innovative learning opportunities, fabulous featured speakers, and networking with the brightest learning professionals in Texas.  For more information... 

Watch for the Know Before You Go email to be sent out on June 14.  It will contain all the important information you will need to know before you leave to attend the conference; where to go, what to bring, and who can help.

Upcoming Workshop

A free workshop for LFTX members -- Leaders Must Keep Up Their Learning -- This is how!

Free one-hour workshop on  July 12 at 11:00 CST.

 

This workshop is for anyone who has ever struggled to keep up their professional reading. They will share some very practical hacks and a few tools to get others you work with (teachers, leaders, colleagues) to do more professional learning as well.

Regional affiliates will be honored at the Learning Forward Texas Annual Conference Exhibitor Reception on Tuesday, June 20, at 4:30 pm.  Gather with others from your region, sign up for door prizes, and get information about next year's meetings.

Your voice is important to this process. These short surveys will take you less than 10 minutes to complete. Click here to read more.

  • Free tool: Advancing outcomes for all learners Learning Forward - The Standards for Professional Learning describe the critical components of that system, and when a standard is missing, the system is incomplete and specific challenges arise. This tool lists challenges that develop when standards are absent and the resulting improved outcomes when those standards are addressed. Download the tool now.

Title II-A is at a crossroads; it’s time to get loud with support

Policy makers need to hear from the education community — not in general terms but with specific examples of where Title II-A and high-quality professional learning is making a difference in an educational setting. To get the attention of policymakers for Title II-A, we must show them that professional learning is a critical use of federal funds — one that increases teacher retention, improves workplace conditions, and meets the needs of all students.  Read More
